I bought a remote for the new camera and one of the first things I messed with was doing some long exposure shots at night. This is one of the first shots of a section over a fire on about fifteen seconds exposure. Really pleased with this texture, love the way the sparks leave different trails.

This one also looks good using the overlay layer setting in Photoshop, simply duplicate the layer and change the upper layer’s setting to overlay to bring out the spark trails and add depth and much more redness to the image.

Will be getting some more of these added to the site soon, think they make great abstract texture backgrounds.

Another darker orange and red fire texture shot, lots of subtle swirls of smoke and flame. If you duplicate the original layer in Photoshop and on the upper layer alter the layer setting to multiply, pin light, screen or lighten you can get loads more cool alternative variations on this one. Dark green slime texture photographed from a mix of algae and water, some interesting shapes as the liquid runs down the surface, also other shapes appear when zoomed in. I had a mess about before choosing this one and if you alter the hue and saturation in Photoshop you can make this loads of different colours, which also work well.

Description: A slightly abstract texture created from shots of some plastic mesh again from the farm. There are some great details on this one, due to nature of the mesh not all the shot is in focus, but the bits that are, are really sharp, this one will work well as an overlay in photoshop and can be combined with this darker overlay texture to create all sorts of funky textures.

Description: This new overlay texture was created while doing some random shots, made by taking a photograph of a shed floor using the camera flash. Its not the sharpest shot or the best texture ever, but it is good to use as an texture overlay in photoshop.

With the shot using a flash, the centre of the image is light and the edges have a dark border, ideal for overlaying on to other images. My favourite photoshop settings are either ‘multiply’ or ‘overlay’ its also worth taking note of the colors in the image that you are adding this to, the multiply setting works best with similar hues of color, so its worth changing the hue of the overlay layer so it is similar to the underneath layer.

Will be adding more overlay styled images soon got a good collection of these started already and will also be adding some of my handmade textures.

Description: This green slime texture is taken from shots which were taken recently at the Farm. I was cleaning out an old enamel bath the animals drink from and in the summertime there is a layer of green algae that forms in there, I was brushing it all to get it loose and realised how good that would be for a texture. Took quite a few of these and should be adding some more to the site soon, hope this ones of interest.

Description: This new abstract texture is taken from a shot inside a hay shed and features loose hay. Quite a dark shot but really like the fibres and the look of the texture.
