Detailed Checkerplate Texture

This addition to the site features shots from a checker plate aluminium sheet. The aged metal is covered in dust and dead bugs along with other things.
I have slightly altered the image and added a slightly darker border to the image, but thinking of having the original available as well. I have also some shots of the texture from a distance, with a greater variety of smaller checkers. I will get that added to the site soon.
There are a few more Checker-plate Textures also featured on my site that might also be of interest.
Parchment Textures Pack

I’ve done a few parchment textures in the past but this weekend I’ve set up a proper photo shoot to get the best shots of the textures, got quite a selection of styles from parchments of different ages, this set of six feature a couple of styles. I have also done a few tweaks in photoshop to add some extra character to these. They are pretty big – dimensions are 3500 x 2625 pixels The parchment textures look good both on a small scale and also when zoomed in and should be good for a variety of design projects.

I’ll be adding the new sets soon, got some great shots and should have quite a few different texture packs featuring the new parchments images.
Looking forward to adding the other parchment textures soon, going to do some text based versions with lots of cool calligraphy and a dirty grunge set, looking forward to putting these together soon.

Dried Earth Texture

Dried earth texture, loads of cracks on this one a great texture for overlaying and adding cracks to age other images. Works well as a grey-scale image as well and if you ramp the brightness and contrast in Photoshop you can get the cracked areas to stand out much more.

Textured Concrete Image

Textured concrete image which I have used in my first tutorial, great as an overlay texture to add depth and a subtle grunge feel to other images. This one is quite a detailed texture with a variety of different elements.
There are a few more Concrete Textures also available on my site, still need to get loads more featured on here, new ones will be added soon.
Extreme Cracked Paint Texture

Took quite a few shots of this section of cracked painted wood on the outer edges its slightly blurry and I was going to get rid of this one, but I love the cracks and the details on the main sections, so its staying. I have kept the section of wood and will re-shoot it with another camera. I’m starting work on some new grunge textures soon and will be featuring this one as one of the main overlay photoshop textures. Love the amount of cracks that are featured on this one. Love to know what you guys think, comment below, interested to hear your thoughts.
Pitted Aluminium Texture

Description: Pitted aluminium with quite selection of slight rust and an excellent pitted surfaces, this one should be good to add a grunge style to paper and other images, I tried it in Photoshop and desaturated it and in the hue and saturation settings, select colorize and add colour before altering the layer modes, loads of possible options can be achieved, or you can just leave it as it is, like this one.
Overlay Texture

Description: This new overlay texture was created while doing some random shots, made by taking a photograph of a shed floor using the camera flash. Its not the sharpest shot or the best texture ever, but it is good to use as an texture overlay in photoshop.
With the shot using a flash, the centre of the image is light and the edges have a dark border, ideal for overlaying on to other images. My favourite photoshop settings are either ‘multiply’ or ‘overlay’ its also worth taking note of the colors in the image that you are adding this to, the multiply setting works best with similar hues of color, so its worth changing the hue of the overlay layer so it is similar to the underneath layer.
Will be adding more overlay styled images soon got a good collection of these started already and will also be adding some of my handmade textures.
Music Texture Pack

Music texture pack featuring six textures themed on old piano music sheets. The new ones vary from quite simple music sheet images with added texture effects to some montages of some really old booklet covers overlayed on sheet music, again with some textures and color applied. These new additions are pretty big – dimensions are 4000 x 3000 pixels The music textures look good both on a small scale and also when zoomed in.

Number six is the same image as number two, but I knocked the color back on that and added some new subtle texture from a white painted wall, wasn’t sure if the music sheets were a bit too brown so I threw in a lighter version, which I quite like.

Still not had time to do it, but I’ll be adding all the textures I used to make these and either a screen-cast and, or tutorials so you guys can make your own in the future.
Cracked Earth Texture

Description: Took this cracked earth texture shot recently while out walking, its been pretty warm with little rain and the path has cracked creating amazing cracks and shapes. Should be adding a few more of these textures over the summertime if the weather stays good.
This is another photoshop texture that will work well using the multiply setting in photoshop, add this image above your subject and in the layers panel alter the setting to multiply that will create a cracked effect over you chosen subject.
