A Hessian texture photographed from a new potatoes bag, great detail on this one detailed when zoomed in. A detailed worn Hessian texture taken from some recent shots. Really like the detail on this one, when viewed at one hundred percent you can see the detail of the Hessian fibres that have been displaced over time.

There are a couple more Hessian fabric textures also featured on my site including the Fine Hessian and Hessian Texture, these are tighter fabric images and may be also of interest.

An interesting pressed wood texture, really like the patterns on this one. The photograph is taken from the reverse side of a sheet of hardboard and features the markings that are left when compressing the board, these almost create a checker-plate style.

This one as with all the new additions to the site is a large texture and looks good zoomed out and also shows lots of details when zoomed in, this one has some good pitted areas along with fine wood fibres.

Dried earth texture, loads of cracks on this one a great texture for overlaying and adding cracks to age other images. Works well as a grey-scale image as well and if you ramp the brightness and contrast in Photoshop you can get the cracked areas to stand out much more.

Textured concrete image which I have used in my first tutorial, great as an overlay texture to add depth and a subtle grunge feel to other images. This one is quite a detailed texture with a variety of different elements.

Dark green slime texture photographed from a mix of algae and water, some interesting shapes as the liquid runs down the surface, also other shapes appear when zoomed in. I had a mess about before choosing this one and if you alter the hue and saturation in Photoshop you can make this loads of different colours, which also work well.

Another cracked tyre texture taken from a stack of old tyres. Love the contrast between the grooves of the tyre and the cracks that have appeared over the years. A nice detailed shot with a good variety of texture.

Took quite a few shots of this section of cracked painted wood on the outer edges its slightly blurry and I was going to get rid of this one, but I love the cracks and the details on the main sections, so its staying. I have kept the section of wood and will re-shoot it with another camera. I’m starting work on some new grunge textures soon and will be featuring this one as one of the main overlay photoshop textures. Love the amount of cracks that are featured on this one. Love to know what you guys think, comment below, interested to hear your thoughts.

This rusted white paint texture is taken from a boarded up window near to where I live, the guy came out of the building and spotted me taking the shot, got quite a funny look… I like this one, good selection of thin rust, should be a good overlay or can just be used as a grunge styled background, quite detailed.

Getting quite a collection of different types of Rusty Metal Textures now and will be adding lots more over the next few weeks. Hope you guys like this addition to the site.

Another water droplet texture, this one again was taken recently on a stormy day and features water droplets on the window of my car. Got plans for some new ones, I’m after a really busy droplet image with loads of detail. Quite like this new one, but looking forward to adding new ones soon.

Needed to get this one featured on the site as its used in a new tutorial I’m writing. The new folded brown paper texture has a distinct hard edged fold down the centre. As with quite a few of the recent additions, I have slightly altered them in Photoshop to enhance the images, this one I boosted the colour slightly by duplicating the layer and doing a subtle overlay setting on it, think it works well. Getting a good collection of brown paper images together now with quite a selection of styles.

Stained brown paper texture 3500 pixels wide, I did a bit of re-working on this one and darkened it slightly, the original photograph was good but when I was messing with what can be one with it, I thought the slightly darker version worked better.

Loads of detail on this addition to the site, cracks creases and when zoomed in, lots of paper fibres. There are lots more Brown Paper Textures also available on my site and will be adding a selection of new normal paper textures soon.

I’ve got loads of really good hi res Hessian textures that I have not featured on the site yet, but saw this one the other day and borrowed it to do some shots, its a baby version with a fine Hessian weave.

Quiet pleased with the new one, lots of details. Need to do some handmade fabric textures soon, also should be adding some other shots I have taken including feed bag fabrics, chequered fabrics and some other dirty grunge sets. Got the photos done just need to get them added, hope you like this one?

This is another recent hi res shot of a cloudy sky with a hint of sunshine, struggled with a name for this one but it reminds me of CG skies I’ve seen watching pixar films with my daughter so I’m sticking with it

Its actually quite tricky getting good images of the sky, poles, wires are everywhere. Really wanting some cool sunset and sun rises, pink/red skies etc featuring on the site, thinking of starting to take my camera everywhere with me now.

I think this dreamy cloud texture has value, its a good clean photo and can be used for wallpapers or a backdrop for other design related imagery, its also good to put through HDR software to bring out some of the contrast in the clouds.

Description: I just realised how much I love making textures, created this new grunge music texture tonight using some of the upcoming images I’m about to publish on the site, also started yesterday on the first tutorial, that’s going to take a bit more to do but will be really good.

This new music texture is created from a pretty basic hi res shot of a music book page with several overlaid textures on different settings. Will be creating a large ‘full on’ grunge texture pack soon. I was going to publish the psd as well so you guys could look at the settings I have used but its massive 206 meg.

Description: Pitted aluminium with quite selection of slight rust and an excellent pitted surfaces, this one should be good to add a grunge style to paper and other images, I tried it in Photoshop and desaturated it and in the hue and saturation settings, select colorize and add colour before altering the layer modes, loads of possible options can be achieved, or you can just leave it as it is, like this one.

Description: This new oak wood grain texture is taken from a shot of a recently chopped tree stump, love the swirly patterns that are going on in the grain of the wood.

Quite a detailed shot with a good variety of colors and I think it works well when zoomed in and when zoomed out. There are lots more wood textures also available on my site that may be of interest.

Description: Old tyre texture again taken from recent photographs taken at the farm, love this new one loads of details when zoomed out and when on 100% magnification. The old tyre texture is covered in cracks and the surface of the rubber is decayed with hints of green and moss has started to grow on it.
